ABOUT LISANNE

Who is Lisanne

Born and raised in Ednburgh I picked up my writing pen over 30 years ago. I was drawn firstly, because it was cathartic and supported me as I tried to deal with the death of my parents. I drew inspiration from them, as I wrote about their lives, their loves and their experiences during and after World War Two.
Although my first novel was semi-autobiographical, I was drawn to the fantasy setting and began writing paranormal romance books. Fascinated by angels, demons and the unseen worlds I love creating works that intersect between mystical and reality. Hopefully you will have as much fun reading my fiction, as I have had in creating them.

My Writing

My biggest passion is reading and writing and although my life is hectic, I always make time to settle down with a good book. I try to write as much as possible and the positive encouragement of my friends , family and readers really assists me as I let my imagination run wild.
My first novel, Cathedral City, was semi-autobiographical and historical but I love the escapism in writing fantasy. I am fascinated by what may lie outside of this world and the possibilities of other worlds interacting with ours. Hopefully you do too, and if you have any comments or suggestions for future works, I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch, if you would like more information about my paranormal romance books.

What's Your Favourite time of the Year?

Do you have a favourite time of the year? A perfect season, perhaps?
I have three and I'm sure they're all linked with food and chocolate!
Christmas - it's definitely one of my favourite times. Decorating the tree, putting the village up, preparing the food. I recently got rid of the tree  and got a layered "tree" made in order I place the village on the layers! Two for one.
Easter - now that is definitely linked to chocolate. Memories of searching for little eggs. The tradition now carried on by my sons .
Birthdays - no not just mine - all of them, I love celebrating birthdays - and not just for the cake!
"A good story full of emotions. Everyone should read this". Valerie - The Teacher

"What an imagination! Thoroughly enjoyed it, didn't want to put it down" Lauren - The Awakening

What's Happening

Sadly the world was introduced to a nasty virus, Covid-19 and nearly everything came to a grinding halt to save lives. San Diego Comic-Con took the essential step and cancelled the 2020 event. There is however an online SDCC for anyone to attend and walk through the vast area of contributors, including myself.

I hope you join me and call into my online table.

What's Happening

I'm delighted to note I've been accepted into San Diego Comic-Con.
The graphic novel based on the novella The Devil Takes a Holiday, which Dave Hill has been furiously working on, will make an appearance on the dates July 23rd to 26th.
It's all go just now, making sure enough books and giveaways are ready to be shipped over to San Diego, together with the usual flyer handouts. Plus of course my trusty help will be getting into costume for the event.
I will be writing a blog  all about the experience, for my publisher www.troubador.com and will share it to this site.
As time nears the day  I'll keep up to date on what is happening. Meanwhile it's a busy year, with lots of travelling still to do, especially in Scotland. Three trips to Inverness and a tour of our favourite places with some very close friends visiting from the U.S.A
